Once you have zoomed in, boat launches and other points of interest will show up on the map as clickable red icons (see the key below the map). Driving Landmarks: From Route 1 (Post Road), south of downtown East Greenwich, head east on Essex Road for 0.4 miles and then turn left onto Potowomut Road. The boat ramp is 0.3 miles ahead on your left off Potowomut Road.

Note: Because one boat launch can access, say, both a lake and a river or both the upstream and downstream portions of a river, not all paddling trips at a given site will necessarily encounter all of the features listed.
Comments & Overview:Potowomut Pond is a small, 19 acre pond with a DEM Fishing Access Site on the east side. The shoreline here is gravel and very suitable for launching hand carried boats into the pond. Some of the shore of the pond has been built up with houses, but much of the shoreline is wooded. It is a long narrow pond and if you paddle up to the north end you can explore a little ways up the Hunt River. This pond is stocked with trout during the early spring.
