Description & Overview:

As of 2021, officially DEM is no longer issuing permits for camping at these sites, which would appear to mean that camping is no longer allowed here, but reports are that people continue to camp here and that DEM is not interested in enforcing a prohibition on camping and so is effectively looking the other way. The campsites are part of Burlingame State Park and are along the left side of the river (paddling downriver) about a mile below Burdickville. For hikers the sites are along the Riverloop Trail and can be reached from either the parking area on Buckeye Brook Road or the North South Trailhead on Burdickville Road. If you do choose to camp here, please do so responsibly so that there is not pressure to enforce the no-camping rules and so that those who come after you do not find trash or waste at the campsites.
